Malcolm said “A Week with Charlotte in Japan… With a friend strongly recommending that I spend a week with Charlotte painting in Japan, I never envisaged that this week would far exceed my expectations. Charlotte is just an amazing host, as apart from having a great home in Japan to use as a base, she knows numerous painting spots plus great restaurants for both lunch and evening dinners. Having always wanted to be in Japan when the blossoms were out, it was an unforgettable experience to be able to see them, and enjoy including blossoms in my painting efforts. I can well imagine it would be just as much fun painting the autumn colours in October. Opportunities to paint before we went out each day, and then after returning from dinner each evening, allowed me a chance to slowly fill up my sketch diary. Charlotte’s daily demos were an added bonus, plus she was always willing to share her knowledge and experience with numerous handy hints. An outing to the most amazing art supply store in Sapporo, was another highlight. Talk about a ”kid in a candy store”. I could have easily spent twice as long there!
